Why aren't song titles and artist names displayed on the media player while I'm listening?

Many internet stations upload their songs to a server and let them play as individual songs in random order. Because we create a one hour show and then upload it, it plays as one long song. We have added this challenge to a long 'to do' list and hope to eventually see this question disappear!

Where did the name come from?

We believe that good music is able to stand on its own without needing a video to sell it. We, therefore, wanted a name that referenced the sense of "hearing". While looking at a diagram of the human ear, we noticed that the name of the nerve which connects the eardrum to the brain (the means through which we interpret sound) was "the eigth nerve". We thought "Brilliant! That's the name." Well, it was already taken by a medical clinic! So we turned it around and added "planet" to denote the idea that there is a tremendous diversity of music being made on this planet beyond what we may be exposed to in our hometown.
